Drought Prevention Institute regional roadshow in Baku

Drought Prevention Institute had its regional roadshow from 31 March to 1 April in Baku.

The Drought Prevention Institute (DPI) launched its regional roadshow in Baku, marking the first stop in a series of visits across the capitals of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Mr. Balázs Hendrich, Executive Director of the OTS Representation Office in Hungary and Chair of the DPI Board, and Dr. László Örlős, DPI Operations Director, visited Azerbaijan from 31 March to 1 April to present DPI’s strategic objectives and activities to key national stakeholders. The mission also provided an opportunity to engage with representatives of academia and the private sector and to exchange views on potential project proposals.

During the visit, Mr. Tamás Torma, Ambassador of Hungary to Azerbaijan, and Mr. Balázs Hendrich held substantive and constructive discussions with H.E. Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy; H.E. Mr. Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Agriculture; H.E. Mr. Teymur Musayev, Minister of Health; and Mr. Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the State Water Resources Agency.

The DPI (https://dpiots.org/), established in Budapest as a joint initiative of the Government of Hungary and the OTS, aims to identify and support the implementation of multilateral development projects. It serves as a catalyst for sustainable development and enhanced drought resilience across the Turkic region.
