ELTE alumni reunion in Baku

On 11 April, Baku played host to a special gathering of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) graduates.

This alumni reunion went beyond a simple meet-up; it created a meaningful link between fellow alumni and the next generation of Azerbaijani students.

Currently over 150 Azerbaijani students enrolled at ELTE. This bond is further strengthened by the Azerbaijani Language and Culture Center, which has been operating at ELTE since 2025 as a joint initiative with the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

As Hungary’s oldest continuously operating university, founded in 1635, ELTE boasts a prestigious history. Its academic excellence is reflected in its world-renowned alumni, including Nobel laureates such as György Hevesy (Chemistry), Albert Szent-Györgyi (Medicine), and János Harsányi (Economics).
