The Platform ‘Culture – Central Europe’ was initiated in 2001 by the ministers responsible for foreign cultural activities in Central European countries as a forum for cultural discussions and projects with the aim of complementing multilateral cooperation through activities based on common Central European traditions and interests. Member states of the PCCE include Austria, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary.

In 2025 under the Hungarian presidency a common cultural project was organised in Baku with partnership of the the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

The exhibition What Will We Wear in the Future? was organised in the Carpet Museum between 9 and 13 April 2025 with young designers from Austria, Azerbaijan, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. The exhibition showcased textile art pieces made with different techniques from recycled and natural materials and demonstrated the transformation potentials of biomaterials and textiles in the artists’ works challenging the traditional concept of waste products. The artists draw attention to the role of originality, intuition, independent and critical thinking in contemporary design as well as the ecological benefits that the fashion industry can contribute to environmental protection through recycling.

Saadat Yusifova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Amina Melikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and Ambassador Tamás Torma opened the exhibition.
