On 3 March 2026, Péter Sztáray, State Secretary for Security Policy and Energy Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, attended the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council’s 12th Ministerial Meeting in Baku. In his speech, Péter Sztáray emphasized that the principal objective of the Hungarian government is to ensure stable, sustainable, and climate-neutral energy supply for Hungary. The expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor's capacities is an important step towards achieving this goal and Hungary considers Azerbaijan as a strategic partner in this regard.
