Gyula Benczur Art Contest for Children
Hungary in traditional genres of painting
Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Gyula Benczur, the famous Hungarian painter, the Embassy of Hungary in the cooperation with Nargiz Art Studio and the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Hungary, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Nargis Magazine and the Libraff Bookshop Chain LLC announces an art contest for Azerbaijani children between the ages of 6 and 17. The aim of the contest is to focus the interest and creativity of young generation on fine art. In this difficult period of pandemics, we intend to motivate the Azerbaijani children with a safe and beneficial activity and to find talented followers to Gyula Benczur among young Azerbaijanis.
Terms and conditions of participation
All artwork must include an element about Hungary, such as a historical building, a native Hungarian animal, a geographical place, a famous person, a Hungarian tale.
The artwork can be done in any traditional genre of painting.
Photographs, sculptures, and digital paintings or other digitally-created artworks are not eligible for entry.
The painting must be your own original work, with a short description how it connects to Hungary.
AGE CATEGORIES
In age of the following age categories the best 5 artworks will be rated:
- 14-17 years
- 10 – 13 years
- Under 10 years
Each artwork should be submitted via a parent or a legal representative.
PRIZES
All winners will receive certificate dedicated by the Embassy of Hungary and awards offered by the organizers.
All awarded pictures will be part of the exhibition organized by Embassy of Hungary in Baku.
ENTRY FEE
Entry for the competition is free.
APPLICATION
The competition closes 5th of September. Participants should send 3 photos about their artwork minimum size 1200*800 on the following e-mail address: sh5photocompetition@gmail.com; naraazizova@yahoo.com;
Confirmation will be send for all participants.
Our jury via our Embassy Facebook page will select the winning pieces, where we will also announce the winners. The winners will be announced till 13th of September.
After announcing the winners, they should send their pictures to the Embassy of Hungary until 25th of September (Baku, Icheri Sheher, 1004, Mirza Mansur küc. 72.)
Other Terms and conditions:
The competition is open to every child between 6-17 from Azerbaijan.
All contestants agree that all pictures submitted to the competition may be used to promote and advertise the Contest and the Exhibition.
All winners agree to participate in related publicity activities and to the use of their name and winning images for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity of the Contest and Exhibition without additional compensation.
The right of the Works during and after the competition and the exhibition remains with the Artist.
All submissions will be assessed by a jury who will decide on the winners.
