In November-December 2020, Viktor Szederkényi, the Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Azerbaijan presented Hungarian state decorations to four Azerbaijani citizens playing a key role in the development of bilateral cultural relations.
In recognition of his contribution to the development of Hungarian-Azerbaijani cultural relations, the Hungarian Bronze Cross of Merit was presented to Aydin Sadikhov, an Azerbaijani photographer.
In recognition of his contribution to the promotion of Hungarian culture in Azerbaijan, the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit was awarded to Ramil Gasimov, the Director General of Medeniyyet TV.
In recognition of his outstanding role in promoting Hungarian classical music culture in Azerbaijan, the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit was presented to Ayyub Guliyev, chief conductor of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In recognition of his outstanding role in the development of Hungarian-Azerbaijani relations in science diplomacy and education, as well as in the promotion of Hungarian language and culture in Azerbaijan, Fariz Ismailzade, the Vice-Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Azerbaijan was awarded by the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit.
Due to the epidemiological situation, the award ceremonies took place in small circle, at the Embassy of Hungary in Baku.
